Meet the Maker

Hey, Hey my Friend!  My name is Amanda and THIS is my business.  I wear all of the hats here at Sweet Southern Scents Fragrance Co....I am the maker of all the products you see on this website.  I curate....which is a fancy way of saying that I dream up every single product, design it, make it, test it, label it, market it, package it and ship it straight to your doorstep.  I am the accountant, marketing expert and the customer service representative and I can't wait to help you! 

I am also a wife, busy mom, and a practicing ER nurse for the past 20 years.  I am also a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.  As you can imagine, in my line of work, sometimes things are just hard y'all.  Sometimes it's easy to feel defeated and helpless.  In 2019, I found myself searching for a creative outlet to decrease stress and battle some pretty serious work-related burnout.  I stumbled upon the world of candle-making and quickly fell in love with the process, the science, (and the fragrances)!  Somehow, creating a candle reminded me that everything would be alright, if I could just focus on shining my inner light to those around me.

What started as a hobby to clear my mind, quickly became an obsession. THAT, is how Sweet Southern Scents Fragrance Co was born. One of my greatest passions in life has become creating unique handmade products for all your home and car fragrance needs.

Each product is made with LOVE from my home in Trinity, Texas.  I pay great attention to every detail and choose sustainable, natural ingredients that are safe for your family and your home.  

Here, at Sweet Southern Scents, my motto is "Shine your beautiful light.", and every time you light one of my candles, I hope you are reminded to shine your light unapologetically.  No matter where you are in life or what you have been through.....remember that God goes before us and all we have to do is shine our light for HIM so that others can be encouraged and lifted up.  Matthew 5:16.
